Indy Car Suspension
During its restoration, the owner of a vintage Indy car wanted us to return its suspension to the original symmetric design. This required that one inch be removed from the longer, triangular portion of the rocker arm shown below. In order to accurately preserve the original geometry, a fixture was built to hold the arm in both offset and symmetric configurations. The arm was carefully cut apart, shortened, and welded back together. Another example of our attention to detail, the new weld bead was deliberately made slightly irregular to more closely resemble the original weld beads.
